So Who Was And Is The Goddess Inanna Anyway?

What do you know about the Sumerian Goddess Of Love?  Maybe you know a bit about her recorded history from the translations available of Sumerian clay tablets?  Maybe you've come across one of the poems written by her Priestess Enhenduanna?

Historic Accounts Of The Goddess Inanna

According to historic accounts, the Goddess Inanna is the Sumerian Queen Of Heaven And Earth, Anu's beloved, granddaughter of Enlil, and lover of Demuzi.  Known as Ishtar in ancient Babylon, she was the Goddess of love and sex, fertility and war, but also the Goddess of prosperity.  The E'Anna Temple was her sacred precinct in Uruk (Erech), which dates back to over 5000 BCE, where she was adored and admired by the king, Enmerkar, who's naked statue was presented to her as his 'Mistress.'

One of the longest reigning Goddesses, she was revered for over 4000 years, here many titles include:

But what do these really tell you about the 'Queen Of Heaven and Earth' one of the ancient world's longest lasting Goddesses?

Imagine if someone you know documented your life, your character and personal and work achievements, would you agree with anything they wrote?  Do you think that their account would be at all accurate?  Do you feel that you and every and anything that you've done to date is worthy to be noted in the first place?  Would you want each and every singe event documented or would you perhaps screen what was written so that you came across in a better light?  What would be the point of what was written?  Who would it be written for?

Much of what I've read about the Goddess Inanna, my own beloved Goddess, is contradictory in nature and I often find confusion between the mythology and the reality of each event documented.

Many people have tried in vain to interpret what they have read, but how do they really know whether what they claim to be the 'all new' truth really is?  How much of what is written about people now is the 'real' truth?  Even biographies are edited so as to show the writer in a particular 'light' and you certainly can't believe what you read in magazines like OK!

To become a Goddess Oracle, a Practical Priestess, a Priestess of one of the original and forever loved Goddesses, like the Goddess Inanna, you have to truly 'become at one with Inanna'.  You have to know her like you know yourself and the only way you are going to be able to do that is to develop your Priestess Powers and access Goddess Power & Wisdom.  You have to ask her yourself.

The Goddess Inanna to me is so much more than a Goddess, she has become one of my most loved friends and lovers, and yes I said lovers!  In times gone by love was as love is, pure and offered freely to anyone, without judgement or prejudice.  Every time I call upon Inanna or invoke her energies, I find out a little more about her.  She has guided me with love, many times, through situations where even I saw no easy or viable way forward.

Inanna has been a rock when I've been down and a stern and sometimes critical mentorr when I've been maybe a little stubborn or ignorant in my ways.  She has opened my eyes and opened my heart and each time she has done so she has done it without question or obligation.  Her eyes have peered directly into mine, while mine have been pouring tears and she has lifted me up and allowed me to see everything from differing perspectives.

I cannot say that I agree with much of what I've read about her actually, although I will agree that she has a huge appetite for sex, a bit like me on occasion though really!

So don't believe what you read, find out the truth for yourself.  There is no point in playing Chinese Whispers!  Think about this.

How You Can Make Better, Faster And Easier Decisions Magically With The Goddess

Have you had to make any difficult decisions lately?  Perhaps you're trying to make one now?  Maybe you're having trouble making those decisions?  I always used to find making decisions was one of the most frustrating things in the world, my husband used to say to me "oh for goodness sake, just make a decision and move on!"  I hated it when he said that to me, why?  Because if I could've made them sooner, wouldn't I have?

I actually won an award when I used to work in an office, for 'taking decisive action and measures risks'.  Really, being a Practical Priestess, empowered with the power and wisdom of the Goddess, making decisions is something I have to actively do all day every day.  I also help other people evaluate their potential options and choose which paths to best take.

Sometimes it takes me ages, weeks even, to choose between my own options.  At other times I make decisions instantly.  Occasionally however, I find myself at a time and in a place where the only option left to me that 'feels' right, is to do nothing, absolutely nothing

This usually means that a period of waiting in needed, healing and rest is overdue or observation and continued consideration are required.  In other words, it is not yet the time to make that decision.

I've always noticed that if I've gone against my better judgement and Psychic Empathic Priestess Powers, my path is blocked and I am directed into a forced period of inactivity.  I must admit that I did have to learn the hard way with certain decisions and looking back now, I know without a doubt, that I should have listed to what my 'Inner Priestess' was telling me.  But some decisions are much harder and more painful to make than others.

I have since developed this simple 'Successful Magical Decision Making Technique:'

Ideally on a Wednesday or Sunday, find a piece of A4 paper and a pen and some sprigs fresh Rosemary, which stimulates calm collective thinking.  Rub the Rosemary between the palms of your hands until it releases it's wonderfully refreshing and mentally stimulated, yet relaxation inducing aroma.  Then place your finger tips of both your hands on either side of your forehead above your eyebrows, with your thumbs on your temples, each side.  Inhale the fragrance deeply, breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth, three times.

Next, write the decision to be made on a piece of paper, as a question.  For example; "should I do this or that" or "what should I do about..."

Sit quietly and clear your mind, alter your awareness, if you know how to do this, and read your question out loud, asking the Goddess for guidance.  For example say "Holy Goddess Inanna, please answer this question for me so that I can move forward with peace of heart and clarity of mind."

Observe what immediately comes to you and note anything down on the paper.  You may receive guidance in many forms, as feelings, thoughts, bodily sensations, smells, memories, words or images.

If you have to make a choice between many options make sure you ask the Goddess which choice is best for you and others at this time.  Write each option down and read them out one by one whilst observing what comes to you, note down all of your sensations clearly.

Ask if now is the correct time for you to be making your decision or if not when will be.

Thank the Goddess and leave the paper somewhere safe for three days, with the remainder of the Rosemary.  Over these three days go back to the paper if any new insight comes to you and write it down.  You should know beyond doubt what the correct decision is for you to make before long.  Keep the paper until your decision is made then burn with the Rosemary and scatter the ashes to the wind on a Sunday.

The moon also affects women's cycles, which are, like the monthly moon cycle, 28 days in length.  Of course with the modern use of contraceptive pills, this sacred alignment is often forgotten.  The people of the past knew that the time of a women's menstruation was her most powerful time and women were often allowed time to explore this.

Magical energy is much easier to raise and increase during the full moon, with each full moon being given its own name by many ancient traditions.

You will notice that you feel different on the full moon at different times of the year and this is because of the varying seasonal changes and because of the moon passing through the different astrological houses.

Even if it's cloudy I can sense the full moon's intensity and often take time to just sit and meditate and absorb the power of the moonlight.  I always empower all of my home-blended incenses, oils and potions during the full moon, by leaving them in direct light of the moon.  When I then retrieve my blends to store for use, I can sense the tingling of the added vibrations running up through my fingers and hands into my arms.

Look Fabulous And Feel Fantastic EVERYDAY With My Little Make-up Wake-up Prayer

Do you ever look in the mirror and think "Oh great so I look like this today?"

I might have mastered magic, but I cannot claim to have completely mastered the art of keeping my face looking exactly the same every day.


I'm much better than I used to be at taking my make-up off at night, especially since working as a beauty consultant ten years ago, for a while, but come on, do you take yours off every night?  Who does?  So basically, putting it bluntly, I'm like well used to looking shit, and ultimately then, feeling shit.

However, I cannot and do not allow that tiny half-asleep thought to linger, I'm a Practical Priestess of the Goddess after all!

I was just saying to a lovely lady of mine, during her reading, and you'll know who you are my sweet, about this very fact, this very evening.  We laughed as I told her about my "Make-up Wake-up" prayer, as I call it.  Since having my boys, I cannot remember the last time I actually woke up feeling as though I'd had enough sleep, and no, no amount of magic can miraculously counteract a lack of sleep, before you ask.

Me in my natural state is not something I even like subjecting my husband to, but give me half an hour to do my make-up and I'm a new woman, a gorgeous sexy, new, Practical Priestess and webcam model!  I look fabulous and feel fantastic!

So here's the trick, and if you don't wear make-up, why the hell not?  I'm sorry but walls are made to be painted and make-up is magical in itself!

My Little Make-up Wake-up Prayer

First things first, grab all of your make-up and/or face creams and put them on your altar or sacred space and if you haven't got one, again, why the hell not?  Sit or stand over the collection, (in my case I've got a professional size wheely vanity case full!) and look at it all knowing how grateful you are to live in our wonderful modern world where make-up is freely available instead of a previous age where you had to cover your face with lead!

Next, imagine that you are the Goddess of Beauty and Make-up, close your eyes and imagine making every woman and man more beautiful.  Imagine that you look as sexy as you've ever seen yourself look and feel as confident as you've ever felt, with your hair and make-up done to perfection.

Next, imagine that in your right hand you are holding a magical make-up wand, you can actually use a large powder brush in real life if you have one.  Circle it around your collection whilst chanting the prayer below, as you visualise gold and silver fairy-like stars coming out of your wand and covering your items like a light showering of snow.

"I am the Holy Goddess Of Beauty and Make-up,
I have the power to transform lives with faces,
With my magic I empower and wake-up this Priestess,
Where ever she goes to which ever places.

Try to imagine yourself confident, loved, healthy, powerful, wise and provided for as you say the prayer.  The better you do this and the more emotion you put into it, the better the results will be.

What Is Holding You Back?
